<itunes:summary>Fortunately, there is no truth to the rumors that masturbation causes one to get sick, go blind, grow hair on their hands, or age very quickly.

It is common for teenagers and adults to masturbate, whether they are male or female, and there is nothing about masturbating that would cause you to look much older than you are.
A Time of Many Changes
Adolescence is a time of many body changes. It is not unusual to look in the mirror one day and wonder if you look a great deal older than you are. Also, some people ndash; due to genetics ndash; do look older or younger than friends their same age.

Among young men, those who grow facial hair at younger ages or in greater amounts than their peers may find that they look older than their friends. Other people look older than their friends for other reasons, such as if they have spent a lot of time in the sun without wearing sunscreen, if they have smoked cigarettes or if they are losing some of their hair, which is often related to genetics.
Discuss Your Concerns
If you have concerns about your health or your appearance, discuss them with your healthcare provider. There may be little that you can do about how old you look given that much of it may be related to genetics.

However, you might also talk to your friends to see what they suggest: perhaps a new haircut or different clothes might help you to feel as though you look closer in age to your friends.
Recommended Reading
If you feel uncomfortable or guilty about having masturbated, you may find it helpful to learn more about masturbation.

The Big Book of Masturbation is a book that is filled with information about how masturbation has been described by medical doctors, psychologists, anthropologists and even writers, poets and comedians. It details the many myths about masturbation, including the now-outdated idea that masturbation could make one look older than they are.

It also identifies many of the benefits of pleasuring onersquo;s own body, such as learning what feels good for oneself or, among men, learning to control the timing of ejaculation. There is even some research that suggests that masturbating as a young adult may be associated with a lower risk of prostate cancer later on.

If you enjoy your masturbation, you can do so knowing that it wonrsquo;t make you look any older (or younger) and that it is often a pleasurable experience for many men and women throughout their lives.</itunes:summary>

<itunes:summary>There has been only a little research related to what some call ldquo;foot fetishesrdquo; and though it is quite clear that people have linked feet into their sex play for centuries, it is unclear what it is that drives some people to experience such intense arousal or eroticism when they see, touch or lick another personrsquo;s feet.
Unusual But Not Strange
We do know that foot fetishes are relatively uncommon and are perhaps experienced by less than 5% of the population. That said, uncommon doesnrsquo;t mean ldquo;strangerdquo; and your sexual interest is nothing you should be made to feel embarrassed about.

Given the lack of research on the topic, we know very little about what causes people to form these interests. Some researchers believe that foot and other types of sexual excitements may have been formed around the time of puberty when hormone levels are high and many things become exciting for the first time. Others wonder if there isnrsquo;t some biological basis for certain types of sexual interests, particularly given that some interests are noticeable across time and in various cultures.

People also enjoy the sexy side of feet in different ways. Some people find that their foot-related arousal is highly problematic in their lives, especially if they find it difficult to find a partner with whom they can enjoy their foot fetish. Other people are fortunate to find one or more partners who support, encourage or enjoy foot play, just as you have found an open and accepting partner in your wife.
Check In With Your Partner
That said, since this is a relatively new experience with your wife, you might want to check in from time to time with her to see how she feels about the ongoing foot play during foreplay and other types of sex play.

Sometimes a personrsquo;s partner might grow tired of foot play if it feels too frequent, or if they worry that their sexual connection has become more about their feet and less about them as a whole person.

She may never have these feelings, but continuing to communicate with each other about your sex life, and what helps you both to feel turned on, desired, wanted and connected, may help to keep your sex life feeling meaningful and satisfying over the long term.

<itunes:summary>People work out their relationships in numerous ways. In American culture, serial monogamy is one of the more commonly practiced relationship structure among couples ndash; especially those that identify as heterosexual.
Serial Monogamy
The term ldquo;serial monogamyrdquo; refers to the practice of having more than one relationship in onersquo;s lifetime, but having each of the relationships be monogamous.

You may know someone who fits into this mold if you perhaps have a friend who had a monogamous relationship when she was in her early twenties and after it ended she may have dated other people for a few months or a few years until she found someone else to be in a monogamous relationship, and so on.
Not One "Right" Way
Although this is a common structure for many couples, it is by no means the only way to have a satisfying, enjoyable, or meaningful relationship. Some couples ndash; like you and your husband ndash; prefer to be in an open relationship and there is no reason to believe that the desire to be in an open relationship is related to anything psychologically wrong or damaging.

There is nothing necessarily ldquo;wrongrdquo; with people for wanting to be in an open relationship just as there is nothing necessarily ldquo;wrongrdquo; with people for wanting to be in a monogamous relationship. They are simply different relationship preferences, each with their own challenges and advantages.

As you likely know, there are many different ways to have open relationships just as there are different ways to have monogamous relationships. In some open relationships, only one partner has sex with other people. In other open relationships, both partners may have sex with people besides their primary partner.

Some couples are very specific about what types of sex acts can occur with other people and, for some, only sex in which they both participate with others (such as threesomes or group sex) are permitted.
Less Social Support
Because open relationships are less commonly talked about in mainstream American culture, there is less social support for them. Some researchers believe that this lower level of social support can make open relationships challenging to sustain.

This doesnrsquo;t mean that open relationships canrsquo;t make it over the long term, but it does mean that it can be helpful to identify friends or family who will support you and the choices you make that help you to feel whole, healthy, happy and satisfied.
Recommended Reading
In recent years, more books have been written about open relationships and the unique challenges that come with these relationships as well as the relationship and communication skills that can be helpful in helping them to thrive. For additional perspectives and insights, you might find it helpful to read The Ethical Slut or Opening Up: A Guide to Creating and Sustaining Open Relationships.</itunes:summary>
