The Sex Workers Art Show visits Indiana University next month to expose audiences to a hilarious and poignant mixture of sex, love, humor, and art.

Throughout all of January and February of 2008, there is a sexuality-themed art show that is touring the nation! The Sex Workers Art Show displays the art from workers in the sex industry, from strippers to internet models.

The show has visual art, performance art, and everything in between with the goal to “dispel the myth that they are anything short of artists, innovators, and geniuses!”

Not only are they artists, but the sex workers who are featured in the show have also written a book together, called Working Sex. Edited by Annie Oakley, the book is a compilation of experiences different sex workers face.

The essays, narratives, plays, and stories showcase a wide variety of perspectives on the experiences with sex work from people in all areas of the industry, making it the most diverse anthology on sex work in the U.S.

Check out the Sex Workers Art Show website for more info, and click on the tour schedule to see when they’re coming to your city.
