Book recommendations from experts in the fields of sexuality, gender, health, science and relationships
Eric Grollman, a PhD candidate in Sociology at Indiana University recommends reading Amy C. Wilkins’ Wannabes, Goths, and Christians: The Boundaries of Sex, Style, and Status
“Wannabes, Goths, and Christians is an interesting contribution to understanding how race, ethnicity, social class, gender, and sexuality intersect – in this case, how the intersections among race, ethnicity, gender, and social class are reflected in sexuality. It’s a fun and insightful peek into the lives, experiences, and concerns of young people of different social backgrounds.”
Erick describes his own research as aiming “to highlight the role sexual identity plays in individuals’ lives and worldviews outside of the bedroom – that is, how one’s sexual identity shapes one’s experiences, values, and attitudes”.
