Book recommendations from experts in the fields of sexuality, gender, health, science and relationships
Author and sex educator Cory Silverberg recommends reading Feona Attwood’s Porn.com: Making Sense of Online Pornography:
“I’m half way through this excellent edited collection of essays mostly from media studies folks (with a few sociologists and women’s studies people in there too). As a sex educator who writes and speaks about technology, it’s exciting to see a collection that focuses on pornography produced and distributed primarily or exclusively online (as opposed to in video stores, in theatres, in hotel rooms, etc…). While there are many points of connection to offline pornography, focusing on online material allows the authors the luxury of thinking more deeply about the unique phenomenon that is online pornography.”
Cory Silverberg is the chairperson of sexuality educator certification for AASECT and a certified sexuality educator. His writing and teaching focuses on intersections of sexuality, disability, technology, and pleasure. He is the co-author of The Ultimate Guide to Sex and Disability, and the Sexuality Guide for About.com.
