A recent study found that men who heavily used their cell phones had less sperm and more abnormal sperm than men who did not use their phones as frequently.

A recent study by researchers at the Cleveland Clinic have discovered a connection between high cell phone usage and sperm quality. They studied 361 men, and found that the ones who heavily used their cell phones had less sperm and more abnormal sperm than men who did not use their phones as frequently.

While it’s true that these researchers found an association, it’s important to note that there’s not necessarily a cause-and-effect relationship going on.  More research may show that cell phone use actually causes low sperm count, or maybe men with fewer sperm use cell phones more?!?  Can’t say yet what it all means, but it does make you wonder…

The full article can be read on MSNBC, or you can read more about the study at the Journal of Fertility and Sterility.
